The Benefits of Taking Violin Lessons Online

March 2nd, 2010 No comments

Violin lessons online does not only benefit new students, it also benefits music teachers who want to update themselves with lessons from the experts. The biggest advantage it gives is that they receive new techniques from people who succeeded in the music industry. More people now choose to take their lessons online because they get the value of their time, patience, and money.

In online violin lessons, teachers give out direct-to-the-point lessons which can be reviewed on and on until the student gets it. Unlike in real-time lessons, teachers will have the opportunity to give you the same lesson over and over again for many days and you do not progress at all, in terms of skills and techniques.

Having violin lessons online instills in you the art of learning music on your own and building up the right character towards every lesson. You will not have teachers who will reprimand you if you do not do well, and if you do not apply self discipline, you will not progress at all.

You will also learn to develop your own style and not have the tendency to depend on how the arranger of the piece has done it or how your teacher showed the musical piece to you. With this, you will gain self confidence because you have created music on your own.

You will also gain the inspiration of creating your own music pieces since you have already acquired the basic “how to” in doing it with the right musical discipline, of course.

Live Violin Classes Vs Violin Lessons Online

March 1st, 2010 No comments

Live violin classes versus violin lessons online can be a very good item to discuss . Weighing the pros and cons of each can help you decide on where to get your education.

With the development of the digital age, even taking up lessons and classes can now be found online. You can already see a lot of online violin lessons as there are now a lot of the experts in this field of music have given in to digitalization. You must also be aware that bringing violin lessons online does not intend to take away real-time and live classes. It only intends to share quality education to everyone around the globe.

Real-time violin classes have its advantages. One of which is that you will be able to learn how to play the instrument from a person which you can talk to in real-time as well. When there are questions that you want to raise, there is a lot of room for you to do it, which is not offered in an online class. The downside of real-time violin classes is that you pay real high for each class, plus, you do not get classes from pros compared to online violin classes.

On the other hand, taking violin lessons online have its set of advantages, too. You will be guaranteed with lessons that are mustered with theories and principles from experts—something that you really need especially for classical music pieces and jazz. Since these are online violin lessons, you can choose which expert’s lessons you wish to take—this is by far the best perk of taking up violin lessons online. These experts who provide the lessons have the skills and the right kind of encouragement that they will give to those who avail of their music packs.

Online violin lessons also come with high quality videos which you can review over and over again until you get the lesson. Some lessons are for free, but if you have to purchase them, it will always be guaranteed that it’s reasonable enough.

Are Violin Lessons Necessary?

February 28th, 2010 No comments

Recently I have been receiving quite a few e-mails from people asking if violin lessons are completely necessary. I guess people want to know if they can learn by themselves and more importantly they want to know whether they should part with their money.

Well actually this is quite simple. No, violin lessons are not necessary. There is a wealth of resources on the Internet and probably in your local library that can give you enough information to learn just about anything, violins and other musical instruments included.

There are many great tutor books that are also available, they are well-written and well organised for you to go through in a step-by-step and methodical fashion. Not only that but many of these books are also written by very experienced musicians, performers and teachers.

But, violin lessons will give you a huge advantage. This is because someone will be there to take you through step-by-step, fix any problems and prevent bad habits from setting in during the early stages.

As you know I strongly recommend the Violin Master Pro lessons from Eric Lewis, as this expert will be able to get you playing a lot quicker than if you talk to yourself. Through years and years of teaching experience he knows and will show you the fast track to success.

People begin to question violin lessons and then necessity when the cost of such teaching is a little out of reach.

All you have to do is be honest with yourself. If you can afford the $27 it costs to gain access to months and months worth of incredible expert tuition from one of the world’s leading violinists, then go ahead and invest the money. You won’t regret it.

However if that initial investment is breaking the bank, then under no circumstances should you go ahead and become a member of Violin Master Pro. Instead head to your local free library and get a good book – you will be able to learn and get your hands on some great violin lessons with this method.

Violin Lessons for Children

February 24th, 2010 No comments

Recently I’ve been receiving quite a lot of e-mails from people looking to get violin lessons for their young children. The most common question they want to know is if the online lessons from Eric Lewis are suitable for younger learners.

In short, yes it is suitable for children.

You have to remember that computers, online videos and that little thing we call a ‘mouse’ are all completely second nature to our kids in this day and age. Every school has a computer suite and if you are reading this then you most likely have a computer at home.

Guaranteed your child will know how to work it.

So as for getting around a website, downloading documents and watching videos, a child will have absolutely no problem and it will be incredibly interesting and exciting for them. But are the lessons put over in a way that a child can understand?

The teacher Eric Lewis isn’t condescending in any way, but he is very precise and structured in his delivery. You have to remember that he will never be overtly complex, because even adults who are taking these lessons will be complete beginners.

Adult beginners will need just as much gentle encouragement and directing as children. So this program will be perfect for kids to learn the violin.

If you are at all in doubt, then just take advantage of the eight-week guaranty. You can use this online website, access absolutely everything and if your child doesn’t take to it all you have to do is send one e-mail.

Within minutes you will have every red cent of your investment back with no questions asked.

Take advantage of this and start having some fun with your music.

Instant Free Online Violin Lessons

February 21st, 2010 No comments

Here’s a great article I got from Ezine telling you how to go and find some great free online violin lessons. There’s a lot included and the site it recommends has free lessons as well as recommending the online package we think is brilliant over at Violin Master Pro.

Instant Free Online Violin Lessons

By Richard Rowley

If you are looking for free online violin lessons it shouldn’t take you long to find some fantastic resources. With the explosion of learning online there are endless possibilities to learn, enjoy and master pretty much any subject you can think of including the violin.

If you wish you can hunt around the Internet to find some lessons and a teacher that will suit your style and personality. However, if you look for lessons that come from the teachings of someone famous or well-known in the violin world then you won’t be able to go wrong.

The lessons would probably be delivered in an e-mail format and will include tips, techniques and maybe a few downloadable products for you to get your teeth stuck into and add another string to your bow! Sorry I couldn’t resist!

What’s great about these online lessons?

  • Well first and foremost they are free.
  • You can take the lesson anytime you like, even if it’s 2 AM
  • You can repeat the lesson as many times as you like
  • Some people collect all the e-mails and create their own intense learning course

But my favourite benefit of all is that you are learning a fantastic musical instrument from the comfort of your own home.

Hopefully you can find some great free online violin lessons that perhaps are linked to a website or blog that has loads of information and resources for you to use. Personally I love e-mail teachings that eventually lead on to a full programme from a professional violinist. This adds great continuity for the student and provides good targets to work towards.

One of the best resources I’ve found for free online violin lessons is here

Do you know which world-famous violinist they come from?

The lessons are incredibly informative and there is great continuity as well as a blog packed full of useful information and videos

Essential Online Violin Practice

February 3rd, 2010 No comments

If you are taking violin lessons online, your practice is just as essential as if you are taking off-line lessons. Yes a good quality teacher can make a huge amount of difference, but at the end of the day your progress and development as a musician is down to your regular and persistent work.

Exactly how much practice should you do?

I get asked this question a lot and actually there is no right or wrong answer. Yes your practice should be regular and daily if possible, however it is the quality of your practice that is far more essential.

If you switch off, stare at the walls that surround you lost your practice for six hours a day, you will make very little progress. But if you practice intensely, with focus and a goal in mind for 30 minutes a day you will improve very quickly.

But as a beginner it is fairly safe to say you should be doing between 20 and 30 minutes practice every day.

The difference between practice and playing.

This is absolutely huge and it’s very important that you understand the difference between practice and playing. Playing your violin is where you get out of your case and perform your music for fun. You could be playing your favourite tunes of demonstrating your new skills to friends and family, this is playing.

Practice is where you are working on a particular area or areas of a particular piece of music. You may be working on some technical exercises to improve your dexterity, speed and bowing technique. You may be working on rhythms , clapping and counting.

It is important to do both as regularly as possible.

Enjoy your instrument.

Above all it is absolutely important that you practice and play so you get the maximum amount of enjoyment from your new hobby. I see so many people from amateurs to professionals who have forgotten why they even began to play music.

Never lose sight of the front element, after all it is this that keeps us going day after day and wanting to learn more and play more. Good luck with your violin lessons online and keep practising!

January 29th, 2010 No comments

Many people understand that it is great fun to learn a musical instrument, but not many people understand the huge amounts of benefits that you will experience with this exciting challenge.

Music is one of the most important parts in our world and it is often the foundation or pillar behind most civilisations around the world. From the most basic to the most advanced countries music is everywhere. From the television to radio, to schools and enormous concert stages, its presence cannot be ignored.

So if you are tapping into the power of a musical instrument, then you open yourself up to a whole new world within our current world.

Let’s not forget the importance has within our own brain. Just like muscles in our body the brain needs to be exercised. Just take a look at all the brain training games that you can purchase. What better way than to keep yourself constantly alert and challenged throughout all your life than playing an instrument like the violin, piano or guitar?

Your mind will remain sharp throughout its entire life if you choose to exercise it with the study of music.

It is very important to consider the satisfaction and feeling of accomplishment that comes with this type of challenge and education. Even learning to play your first tuneful and simple melody can give you great pride, continuing to play more demanding repertoire, rhythms and technical aspects will see that you remain engaged and rewarded in the future.

No doubt they will have heard you are learning to play the violin or some other instrument and when you impress them with your new musical knowledge and musicianship skills, you will no doubt be left feeling fantastic.

How To Play Piano

January 25th, 2010 No comments

Learning how to play piano is an incredibly popular search on the Internet. This demonstrates just how many people want to play this wonderful musical instrument. Can you blame them? It is an excellent feeling when you can sit at the keys and perform competently for either yourself or the pleasure of your friends and family.

But exactly what is the best route to go down when it comes to mastering this instrument?

Well first of all there are two main options you can take. Lessons with a teacher local to you, either at their house or yours. Or you can take a look at online piano lessons. Both are very effective and both will get you playing in no time as long as you practice of course.

But there are benefits to both.

First of all if you were to visit a local teacher you will be fortunate enough to have a very hands-on approach. Your teachers will be able to watch your technique and they will be able to listen as you play. This will be extremely beneficial to you as a teacher will spot any bad habits you are making and they will be able to help you with your music reading and fluency of playing.

The downside to this method of learning is that it is very expensive. A piano lesson for one hour can cost anywhere from $30 up!

Online lessons are increasing in popularity. The Internet is more a more accessible and there are greater educational sites popping up around the world every day. You can now learn a musical instrument from the comfort of your own home such as guitar, violin, drums and of course the piano.

Obviously you will not have a teacher to watch everything you do, you will be able to access huge amounts of videos, PDF’s, backing tracks and lessons in an instant. Many of the online music sites require just a small one-off fee for months and months worth of teaching and lessons.

The cost of learning online is a fraction of what you would pay to visit a teacher.

Easy Music Lessons

January 24th, 2010 No comments

Finding easy music lessons on the Internet can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. This is quite simply because there is so much available that you don’t know where to begin. Another problem also arises as simple beginner tuition is sometimes a little harder to find and often not very well organised.

However, if you are new to music then this is the place to start.

There are certainly a few things you should look out for as you begin your educational journey in this wonderful art. I could write thousands upon thousands of articles and blog posts on the subject, but I will try to keep this short and sweet.

So here’s a few things you should look out for.

Firstly, check out websites where there is a well-known, qualified and reputable teacher behind the website or blog. This doesn’t mean they have to be some kind of famous musician, just someone who knows what they are talking about.

Some of the musical forums are very good for this as people post reviews on the different teachers and websites available.

Secondly find a resource that is well structured. You need to be taken right from the beginning in a well-organised step-by-step manner. It is no good being thrown into grade five theory and studying some Beethoven’s piano sonatas.

You will simply be lost before you begin.

Finally make sure that your lessons teach you how to read music. Believe it or not many teachers are many instruments either take this for granted all completely forget to teach you simple and effective ways of mastering this skill.

Reading music is not difficult and there are some very simple methods that you can use. You should be able to read many notes on a musical stave within a few minutes. With practice your recognition of notes and rhythms will become very quick. You will be able to read any clef as quickly as your reading these words.

One of the key elements to becoming a competent musician is of course, practice. Get into a good routine and make some excellent habits that will allow you to study regularly and approved rapidly by doing this your music lessons will really begin to pay off.
