How young can children start violin lessons?

My daughter is 3 and I was wondering if she could start lessons soon. Also – does anyone know of a violin teacher in Western Australia that would teach a child so young??

I’m a violin/viola/piano teacher, and use Suzuki method. The child can start at age 3, but four is better. You should post this question on suzukichat at http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/suzukichat/ There are a lot of teachers on there from Australia (including the family of the woman who started the list)

I think childrens can start learning violin as soon as he is able to hold the violin the right way. There is no age limit for that.Afew days before a boy of age 1 and a half started using his computer. This just shows that anything is possible.
